According to the stories of locals, once upon a time there was an Arab Prince who fell in love with an Andalusian Princess on his travels. After their wedding, they moved to the north of Africa, the prince’s homeland. But the princess started to miss her usual surroundings more and more. As the prince suffered seeing his wife so sad, he asked her about the circumstances. When explaining that her hometown was the most picturesque place she could ever imagine, the prince decided to rebuild the village his wife was from and whose white houses characterized the Andalusian charm. The result can be marvelled at until today. The Moroccan town (Xaouen) was a holy place that hadn’t been open to foreigners for centuries. Thanks to this, we can now enjoy the authentic beauty of this Oasis of peace in its originality.

Who doesn’t plan a direct trip to Morocco or prefers some individual travels, can take one of the ferries from Andalusia. In less than one hour you get from Tarifa’s port to Ceuta which still belongs to Spain, located on Africa’s the northern coast. Alternatively, there is the ferry from Algeciras to Tanger which takes one and a half hours. Enjoy watching the dolphins!
From both ports of entry you can get within two to three hours to Chefchaouen, but some stops are worth it. Enjoy Morocco’s coast und culinary. Tourism is well established and you can easily rent a car or use local transportation. Besides Arabic and French, especially in the common tourist areas English, Spanish, German and Russian are often spoken languages.
